Header bolt or stud type and methods
« Reply #1 on: August 16, 2015, 10:29:39 PM »
I am getting ready to install my 304 stainless headers on my aluminum heads and wondered what type and procedure was recommended to secure the headers.
I have read several things that suggest studs or bolts that expand or are normal some made from stainless or steel and some coated with anti-seize, loctite or high temp silicone or using tie wires or clips.
What has everyone found to best long term method to secure headers and prevent exhaust leaks, but allow removal without damage to head at a later time?
Thanks, Josh
